About: Hello! My name is Amanda and I am currently a Senior at UT Austin studying Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences - Speech/Language Pathology. After I graduate I plan on attending graduate school to become a Speech-Language Pathologist.

I grew up in San Antonio with my mom along with my grandparents who lived not too far away. Some of my favorite things include cheese, baking, calligraphy, soup, watching cooking videos, and potatoes!

I am excited to start my journey with Texas 4000!

Why I Ride

I ride for my grandfather, Alfred, or "Buddie" to me, who was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer August 2018. During this time my grandfather never gave up hope that he would one day beat it. He was an amazing man who could make anyone smile and fill the room with laughter. He unfortunately passed away June 2019, and his passing was hard on me as we were close. My grandfather was a fighter until the very end and the hope that he carried throughout this time is what I would like to pass onto others. I want to spread the hope that we will one day live in a world where people will not die from this horrible disease.

I ride for my family as we each were impacted differently by all of this. We always supported my grandfather in all the decisions he made.

I ride for my teammates because they each have their own beautiful story that I am excited to learn about.

My grandfather had a good fight with cancer and now I want to do my part in the fight against cancer.

I truly thank you for taking the time to come to my page. If there is someone that you would like for me to honor and ride for please do not hesitate to reach out to me and tell me your story or even just a name and I will gladly carry it with me on this journey.

2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith".
