Ride Launch
The Start of the 70-Day Journey Begins with One (TEXAS-SIZED) Event!
This year, we’re taking a fresh approach with one Ride Launch event. It will begin with optional bike rides around Austin, allowing anyone to fight cancer every mile before joining us on the UT campus. There, we’ll gather for our customary ceremony. The official Ride Launch of the 2024 team’s summer journey from Austin, TX, to Anchorage, AK, will follow, followed by a Block Party with food trucks, games, and a kid’s zone.
IMPORTANT EVENT UPDATE:
Due to recent campus protests at the University of Texas, the university has rescinded its offer to host our festivities inside the Engineering Education and Research Center (EER) building. However, we are grateful we still have permission to utilize the outdoor spaces as originally planned.
Event Changes:
The program will now be hosted on the EER lawn. See our updated event map.
We encourage all guests to bring refillable water bottles, lawn chairs, and blankets for seating for a comfortable experience during our brief program.
We will NOT have access to building bathrooms, but we will have three porta-potties and a wash station next to the food truck.
This change ensures we can still enjoy a festive and meaningful launch for our riders as they begin their incredible journey from Austin to Anchorage. We appreciate your flexibility and support as we adapt to these change
