Route Description

THIS YEAR’S ROUTE

While this year the team will not be physically riding across North America visiting folks in person, they will virtually ride through each community.  We invite you to join us every pedal of the way. Riders will engage with the community through daily ride dedications, virtual cycling, and the team’s cancer awareness and prevention presentation. The riders want to visit with the community and hear personal stories of how cancer has made an impact. Check the calendar of events on the homepage to see when we will be riding with you.

Created in 2004, the Sierra route traverses the southwestern desert climates of West Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before heading north up the California, Oregon, and Washington coasts and into British Columbia and the Yukon before finally reaching Alaska. The route stops in large cities, small towns, and national parks along the way, including: Coronado National Forest, AZ; South Lake Tahoe, CA; Joshua Tree, CA; San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC; Prince George, BC; and Whitehorse, YT. The Sierra route was one of the two original routes that were created when Texas 4000 was founded in 2004.
