About: Hi! I am a third year Marketing major also pursuing a certificate in Digital Arts & Media from Kerrville, TX. I am currently interning in Atlanta, Georgia, but am excited to return to Austin in the fall and start training to bike to Alaska to raise money for cancer research!
Why I Ride
When I was in 7th grade I met Maggie Moore, who quickly became one of my closest friends. She is to this day one of most selfless and loving people I know, and inspires me daily to try and be a better person. Throughout High School, Maggie's father, Larry Moore, had an ongoing fight with cancer. I tried to be there for Maggie as much as I could throughout the process, but often felt powerless as I never really knew what I could do to help.
Larry passed away in July of 2018, just a month before Maggie's wedding. It was heartbreaking to see just how this issue affected the people that I love, and served as a wake up call to me that it was time to finally do something about it. The kindness that the Moore family always showed me inspired me to ride to Alaska in the summer of 2020 to try and prevent other families from going through this same thing, and work to find the cure to cancer.
