About: Hi, my name is Kadie! I was born and raised in Fayetteville, a not-so-small town in Arkansas. After graduating, I moved to Austin and fell in love with the city through cycling and running on its various trails. Now I am a third-year student at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Radio-Television-Film. I also love to work with kids outside of school through nannying for local families and volunteering at Healing with Horses, an equine-assisted therapy center in Manor, TX. Feel free to reach out to me by email with any questions you have. Thanks for visiting my page!

Why I Ride

About 30 years after quitting smoking, my grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer, which ultimately led to his early passing only a year before I was born. While I never got to meet my grandfather and lost an important figure in my life before it even started, I also did not have to experience the pain and emotional toll that losing someone to cancer comes with, which is something I am so thankful is still true today. I wish there were more people who could say that. I ride because no family should have to have their fate decided by cancer, to be left feeling uncertain and helpless. I ride for the day when cancer no longer threatens individuals, families, and society.
