Why I Ride

I ride for my grandma and grandpa. My maternal grandmother passed away from lung cancer before I was born, and my paternal grandfather passed away in 2012 from prostate cancer. Both of them worked hard to provide for a family of ten and nine children, respectively, in Vietnam. They have raised extensive, loving, and caring families who will always be there to support me in my endeavors, and the reason why I strive to reach my full potential. I ride for those who have given all for their loved ones and those who never had the chance to thank them.

I ride for my uncle. He was a noble hero in the American army during the Vietnam war. He passed away from lung cancer eight years ago. After the war, he married my aunt and changed the lives of many of my family members. He was a vibrant, kind-hearted, and a selfless giver who took my parents and sister under his wing when they immigrated from Vietnam and put a roof over their heads, under which I was born. He has paved the way for our future and has given me the ability to grow up in a community full of opportunity. I feel so blessed to have the experiences I have had and look forward to giving back to my family and community. I ride for those who give, for those who sacrifice and create opportunities for others.

I ride for friends and family,
For loved ones,
For a united cause,
For a better future,
For those who have lost hope.

I ride for those who can’t.
