About: My name is Kelsey. I'm in my senior year studying computer engineering. I like to be outside. When I'm not on campus, you can find me at Enchanted Rock, the greenbelt, Barton Springs, or any decent vendor of coffee and/or tacos.

Why I Ride

I ride because I'm inspired by the cancer-fighting community.

Last April I participated in Brave the Shave, where participants shave their heads to raise money for childhood cancer research. I signed up more or less because I needed a haircut, and it seemed like a good way to get one. I'll never forget the experience of connecting with strangers through my baldness, hearing stories about family members I'd never heard before, and getting to honor brave kids I'll never meet.

Brave the Shave introduced me to the compassion and tenacity of the cancer-fighting community. I'm honored to continue working with and for them.

I ride also for my family, teachers, and friends. Grandma Paule, Tito Tony, Grandpa John, Miguel, Ms. Dees, Ms. Ishman, the Biondi family, Aivien, and Tyler.

Finally, I ride for my teammates, who have suffered so much loss, and still get up every day to give and to fight. I ride to support them in this journey.
