The Start of the 70-Day Journey Begins May 17, 2025!

The 2025 Ride Launch will begin with an optional bike ride around Austin with Violet Crown’s Violet Cruise, allowing anyone to fight cancer every mile leaving from Mellow Johnny’s at 8am before joining us on the UT campus.

There, we’ll gather for our customary Send-Off ceremony and remarks at 9am in the EER building. The Ride Launch of the 2025 team’s summer journey from Austin, TX, to Anchorage, AK, will follow at 10:30am, down Speedway Pedestrian Plaza.

DATE AND TIME:
Sat, May 17, 2025, from 9am-10:30am (optional bike rids start at 8am from Mellow Johnny’s with our friends at Violet Crown)

BRING: refillable water bottles, lawn chairs or blankets for a comfortable experience during the brief program. We have moved the event inside but chairs might be limited.

SCHEDULE OVERVIEW:

  • 8:00 am: Optional Self-Supported Cycling Rides (see below)
  • 9:00 am: Official 2024 Ride Ceremony inside EER Building
  • 10:30 am: Ride Launch of the Texas 4000 for Cancer 70-day Cancer-Fighting Journey to Anchorage, AK 

WANT TO FIGHT CANCER EVERY MILE?

With a suggested donation of $40, you can “fight cancer every mile” on a self-supported bike ride with our partners from various Austin hubs. At the start of the ride, you will receive a ride bib to inscribe your ride dedication.

Even if you’re not cycling to the event, you can still express your support by making a suggested $40 donation with a dedication race bib at the Ride Launch. You can wear these at the event to show support or keep them as a memento of the ride’s kickoff.
