About: I am a daughter, a student, an adventurer, an optimist, and a dreamer. I was born and raised in Querétaro, México but my family and I moved to Houston, TX when I was 12. Even though at first I hated it, Texas gained a very special place in my heart. I never thought I would be two stepping while wearing cowboy boots. The people I met also changed my life. While living in Mexico, I didn’t even dream about going to college because it was unattainable. But ever since I first began school here, everyone left and right was encouraging higher education. America opened up so many doors for me and it taught me a whole new language (which I’m still trying to get the hang of). This country gave me the opportunity to discover my passions. As time passed by, I discovered my love for adventure. I love camping, hiking, and just recently discovered a new love: rock climbing. The beauty of the outdoors captivates me in ways I cannot express.
Through the years, I learned that I also have a passion for helping others. I became involved in the movement for immigrant rights because it broke my heart to see families separated everyday, to see children crying because they no longer had a mother and father to protect them. No child should ever go through the pain of losing a parent, whether it’s from cancer or from deportation. Despite witnessing injustices and pain, I remain optimistic and hopeful because I have also witnessed the power of the people and the things they can do to help. I believe in humanity, and I have faith that we can do something to diminish the pain of those who suffer.

Why I Ride

I ride for my mom, who is my best friend and mentor.
I ride for my aunt, who courageously battled breast cancer and kicked its butt!
I ride for Ms. Martinez, one of the most cheerful and strong women I have had the pleasure of meeting.
I ride for anyone who has ever been affected by cancer.
I ride for their families.
I ride for a cancer free tomorrow.
I ride for hope.

I ride for those who can’t.
