About: Hello! My name's Alex and I’m currently a sophomore in the McCombs School of Business pursuing a major in Finance and minor in Accounting. Outside of school, I love getting to spend time outdoors with friends, compete in endurance sports and catch up on the latest startup news. I’m also a huge fan of country, folk, and rock music, so you can always find me jamming out to Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin or any of the awesome artists in the Texas red dirt country scene.

I’d love to answer any questions you may have, so please feel free to reach out to me at any time!

Why I Ride

Coming up with a single reason for why I ride is impossible. It’s a list that grows every day, and I can only hope to do my part for everyone on it over the course of the next 18 months.

Primarily however, I ride for grandmother who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the fall of 2019. She has been by my side for as long as I can remember, and it’s hard to think of anyone as kind, loving or encouraging as her; attributes that she has refused to let her situation steal from her. I plan to take her with me in all the work I do over the next year and a half, and cross into Anchorage for her in the summer of 2021. For those of you fighting that I don’t know yet, I can’t wait to meet you soon. I hope to hear your stories and offer help in any way I can.

If you’ve found your way to my profile and have someone that you’d like me to ride for, please always feel free to reach out and let me know. I’m more than happy to take as many names as you would like with me throughout this journey.

To Alaska and back,
Alex Yelverton
