About: Hi!
I'm Maddie Keist and I'm a 3rd year business major at UT studying Management Information Systems. I love to cook, bake, do acroyoga, swim, and play violin. I'm passionate about the environment, human rights, and animal rights. I live at House of Commons and I'm in love with my house and cooperative living! I also love to dance despite being extremely bad at it :-)
I have an incredibly wonderful support network including my parents, my brothers, my extended family, my amazing friends, and my obese cat named Hammy.
I'm so excited to embark on my Texas4000 journey and if you're taking the time to read this I want to thank you for your support!

Why I Ride

I ride with because I believe our organization will make a difference in people's lives - whether it be through cancer prevention education, funding revolutionary cancer therapy research, or improving the level of care patients receive.
I ride for my Memaw, Mary Ellen Keist. My Memaw was such a wonderful, warm, and caring person, but she was also a lifetime smoker and passed away this summer from complications due to COPD as a result. One of the pillars of Texas4000 is knowledge. I ride to share knowledge about the dangers of smoking and the hope that more and more people will have the resources and support to quit before it is too late.
I also want to ride for all of the people I have met since joining Texas4000 whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
I ride because I believe that together we can make a difference.
