About:
Although I spent my baby days frolicking in the bluebonnets of Texas, I spent the rest of my childhood growing up in Pittsburgh, PA. I moved back to Texas to attend high school at St. Agnes Academy in Houston, and quickly decided to stay here for my college years. I’m currently majoring in Plan II Honors, with a graduate certificate in Public Health.
I have to admit; I’m one of those kids whose heroes are her parents. Who else can boast a dad who has been a lawyer, teacher, fire fighter, bread-baker, football coach, just to name a few of his careers? Let alone my mother - our family’s rock, brains, and sanity. The woman is brilliant. Furthermore, it was her passion for social justice that ignited interest in public health for me. I hope to follow in their footsteps, and live a passionate, meaningful life.
Other than parentals, I love mountains, baking, my ukulele, cheese, chilling outside, hiking, Harry Potter, Fleetwood Mac, dogs, running, legos, bacon and my brother Gus.
Why I Ride
I ride for my twin cousins Avery and Zoe, or as our family now calls them: BrAvery and OpZomist Prime. When we discovered Zoe had a tumor in her brain at just 10 years old, the shock sent ripples through my family around the world. Zoe and Avery showed us their true grit: both continuing to dance, cheer, and learn even as Zoe received chemo and radiation. Here’s to the toughest girls I know. My ride is another action of OpZomism!
I also ride for my Granddad, a prostate cancer survivor and incredible, loving person. Mom, Dad, and Gus, who took care of Granddad throughout his treatment. I ride for you guys - my constant source of inspiration and crazy.
