About: Hello! My name is Rahul Nowlakha and I am a senior majoring in Management Information Systems. A fun fact about my last name is that a king of India gave it to my family many generations ago and it literally means “nine hundred thousand” in Hindi. I was born in England; unfortunately, my family moved to Sugar Land before I could develop the awesome accent! I love outdoor activities like hiking and running, but oddly enough, I hate bugs and I am terrified by reptiles (I won’t step into the reptile room at the zoo)!

Why I Ride

I have been blessed to have family and friends who can be there and support me when I need them to, but I realize that there are individuals in this world who do not have that comfort.

I dedicate my ride to all the cancer patients who must fight their battle without their friends and family by their side. I ride for all the ones who are forced to summon extra courage and strength to fight this disease while managing their daily lives – alone.

They inspire me to push myself further, and in return I hope I can show them that there are people who are here to support them and who want to stay by their side through the journeys of their lives.
