About:

I grew up in Waco, TX with an ever-supportive family, with whom I am very close. I am a combination of their efforts. I have always been a sucker for camping, stand-up comedy, and Taco Bell. I hate to go through life idly. I thrive on new experiences and overcoming challenges; although, I am a firm believer that relaxing with my ukulele or camping is not a waste of time.

I am a third year Mathematics and Computer Engineering student, and I love it. As much as I enjoy the parks, the music, and the other awesome things of Austin, I would like to branch out and attend an out-of-state grad school. I eventually want to be one of those guys that no one knows who helps create a technology that everyone uses.

Why I Ride

Cancer is a merciless, deadly nightmare for so many people. If cancer were in the form of a terrorist organization, the whole world would be focused on eliminating this global killer. Since this killer is a disease, many people accept it as a fact of life or turn the cold shoulder. I refuse to be one of these people. I have seen how cancer, even when it doesn't take a victim’s life, robs them of so much more: some lose physical ability, some lose innocence, and many lose hope. If I could change just one cancer victim's outlook to be positive and hopeful, then my efforts would all be worth it.

Many of my friends and family have battled cancer. My uncle has beaten skin cancer and my Grandpa has beaten prostate cancer. My Grandma knows cancer all too well. She is my inspiration. She beat breast cancer twice before also winning a long battle against lung cancer, but this disease has taken its toll. I cannot imagine going through all the hardships that she, or any cancer patient, must overcome. Though her body is weaker, her spirit remains as strong as ever. I ride for my Grandma, and I ride to keep hope in the lives of those who are still fighting cancer.
