About: My parents received a surprise Christmas present when my sister and I were born shortly after Christmas 1988. I was born in Louisiana, but grew up here in Austin, Texas, with the greenbelt walking distance from our house. I grew up loving nature, books, and dinners down the street at my grandparents' house.
I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology in December 2010, and began UT's masters program in Health Education in Fall 2011. I am a research assistant in the UT prevention Research lab and the project coordinator for Project Quit Texas, an experimental web-based smoking cessation program.

Why I Ride

I ride for my uncle Howard who lost his short fight with pancreatic cancer two years ago this November. At 64 years old, he was a father of three, grandfather of four, husband, uncle, son, brother, uncle and Vietnam War veteran. My Uncle Howard was brave, loud, and one hell of a cook. He is deeply missed.
