About:

I was born and raised in Lewisville, TX. I come from a family of three girls and I am the youngest. My sisters mean the world to me- they are my best friends and heroes. As a little kid I always tried to follow their lead, but now I am making my own path with them cheering me along the whole time. I am a third year business student at the University of Texas. Although I love the business environment, I hope to take a more non-traditional route and one-day start a non-profit organization. I want to start a summer camp dedicated to serving children from inner city areas. I understand that I was extremely blessed as a child and got the opportunity to participate in activities that allowed me to express myself and grow as a person. I want to provide a safe place for children to come and participate in activities that they might otherwise never have had a chance to try.

Cancer impacts everyone. Everyone has had at least one loved person who was affected by cancer. I look at my beautiful Mom and my incredible sisters and I can’t help but wonder with the statistics being as high as they are today, which one of us will end up with breast cancer? I look at my amazing Dad and I can’t help but think if he will ever be faced with this horrible disease? Unfortunately, for my Uncle that question was answered. He was just recently diagnosed with anal cancer. I want to be strong for my Uncle and show him that his family is here for him not only with our love but also through our actions. I want to show everyone who has been affected by cancer that the world cares and that we refuse to stand idle. I want to fight cancer and I want to win.
