About:

A native Austinite, I grew up surrounded by music, festivals, and fitness. In high school I participated in many organizations, including the debate team, the lacrosse team, French club, became founder and president of my school’s first Adventure club. I love kayaking, hiking, biking, and generally being outdoors, and wanted to share my experiences with my classmates. I am always on the go. I didn’t always know that I wanted to go to the University of Texas, but I love Austin too much to leave just yet. I plan to study abroad and graduate after four amazing years living in downtown Austin.

Why I Ride

I feel incredibly blessed to ride my bike over 4,500 miles in the 2012 ride to Anchorage, Alaska with the Texas4000 team. It means so much to me to be able to inspire people, hear their stories, share my experience, and help others learn about how to prevent cancer. In addition I get to be a part of a fantastic organization that raises millions of dollars for cancer research. My aunt recently lost her 4 year battle with cancer, and I ride for her. I also ride for children and young adults that fight this life changing disease. I ride for those who have lost loved ones, and I ride for those who continue to fervently search for a cure. Thank you so much for helping me realize my dreams!
