About:
I was born in London, United Kingdom, and moved to Austin when I was two years old and I have lived here ever since. Austin is a great city with lots of outdoor activities, lots of festivals, lots of music and lots of interesting people. As a family, we took advantage of all that Austin offered. This shaped my life in a really positive way, and is definitely a big part of why I am such an easy going and weird (in a good way) person.
Even though I’m from Austin, living on campus at UT and attending school here has been a completely different experience from my quiet neighborhood, and I love it! There are so many interesting and fun activities happening all the time that I never have a free weeknight whether I’m studying, at an American Society of Mechanical Engineers function, or playing whatever intramural sport is in season.
I am a second year Mechanical Engineering major looking forward to 3 more years of Longhorn football, playing tennis for the UT Tennis Club, and enjoying my time on the 40 Acres.
Why I Ride
In my opinion, cancer is a problem that can be solved if we all work together towards that common goal. Anyone, no matter where they are from, can relate to cancer. Cancer does not discriminate. Cancer does not go easy on anyone. That is why I think a concerted effort is needed to defeat cancer; we can unite behind this common cause and benefit from the strength of many. That is why I want to do the Texas 4000, so I can raise more awareness about cancer and hopefully create more supporters for the cause.
