About:

I was born in Boston, Massachusetts and at the age of 3 began dance lessons; I was instantly hooked and have been performing or participating in the fine arts ever since, whether it be dance, theater, orchestra, or photography. My love for the arts led me to the University of Texas where I am a Theatre & Dance and Photojournalism double major. I have already participated in multiple shows and productions, including There’s a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom, and have worked as a photographer for the Daily Texan, the UT student newspaper. I love being involved in the community, being busy and taking on new challenges, and I believe the Texas 4000 is a great cause that helps to find a cure to a disease that affects everyone in some way that will be a great accomplishment not just to me, but to the other riders and to everyone involved in and affected by the race.

Why I Ride

The happiest and most unique person I have ever known was my mother’s cousin, Andrea, who died a few years ago at a young age due to cancer. Cancer, in my opinion, touches everyone lives, but Andrea proved to me and to all she knew that she would not let her disease overpower the way she lived. She continues to be an inspiration to me, and because of her, I constantly remind myself to always be happy, no matter the obstacle. As long as there are those to support us, we can overcome anything. Andrea lived much longer than the doctors gave her, and I know it was her joyous spirit and support from her family and friends. The Texas 4000 race is important to me so that I can provide support to those struggling with and dealing with cancer and so that I can spread Andrea’s wisdom that the joy of life is more important than the length.
