About:

I was born in Hungary, and my extended family still lives there, but I was raised in Texas. I was fortunate to grow up in a supportive family that encouraged me to try anything I found interesting. My childhood was filled with music, books, singing, running cross country, and theatre. At the University of Texas, I am a history major with the dream of using my degree to get more degrees. I love Austin for all the opportunities it gives me to try new things. Some of my hobbies include cycling, running, swimming, camping, climbing, and hiking.
Since 2006 when I first learned about Texas 4000 from my brother (Tony was an ’06 rider, but I’ll do everything better), I have been waiting for a chance to become a part of this organization. Texas 4000 has given a sense of purpose to my life. This organization is proof that an individual can make the world a better place, and I am incredibly proud to be a part of it.

Why I Ride

When I was very young, my uncle died. It was only later that I would understand why he did, and that it might have been prevented. He was diagnosed with brain cancer and struggled with it for four years before it overcame him. He lived in the Hungarian countryside, where doctors didn’t have the technology or knowledge to diagnose him in time for him to get proper treatment.
I see Texas 4000 as a way of spreading cancer awareness and knowledge which could prevent someone else from going through what my uncle and our entire family had to struggle with. I have dedicated my time at UT to studying environmental issues and human rights, and I believe in the importance of moving towards equitable healthcare across countries. I will give everything I have to this program because there is no better place to start spreading hope through knowledge and awareness then in the country with the most state-of-the-art cancer facilities and researchers.
