Why I Ride

Cancer kills more than half a million people each year in the United States alone. It doesn’t discriminate based on age, race, sex, creed, etc. But the cost of treating cancer often does discriminate. Cancer treatment costs can and do reach several thousand dollars per month in a country where 45 million people don’t have access to health insurance. We’ve got to do everything we can to support the development of a cure that can be made available to every person in need, not just those who can afford it. Texas4000 is a great way to fight for that cure and spread awareness at the same time.
