About: I was born in Taiwan and my family moved to New York in 1986. I speak fluent Mandarin and few words of Taiwanese. One thing I missed about Taiwan is the food; there are so many snack stands and tropical fruits available â?? cheap and delicious. From K-12, we moved many times and I attended multiple schools, I only have a high school diplomat to show for all those years.

I love to travel and I went on my first long-distance road trip in 2001, Portland-Vancouver-Calgary-Yellowstone NP-Toronto-P.E.I.-Nova Scotia-New York-Mammoth NP-Lafayette, LA (abbreviated itinerary). That was the best three months of my life so Iâ??m really looking forward to our bike ride to Alaska. Another adventure I have been thinking about is thru-hike the Appalachian Trail, itâ??s about 2600 miles and four months long.

I can make great tiramisu and crème brulee but I stop making them b/c they aren't healthy. I am addicted to Madam Mamâ??s chicken curry, the BEST curry in Austin, it's a part of my weekly staple. Iâ??m clumsy because I canâ??t roller skate or snowboard (sigh â?? even on kiddie slope).

I'm studying Finance and Accounting so I can make sure everyone follows GAAP & SOX rules to the letter, LOL.
Iâ??ll start to work at Applied Materials - Austin, in September as a financial analyst.

Why I Ride

My grandfather died from leukemia when I was about five; fortunately, no one else in my family had to struggle with cancer yet.

One of my friendâ??s mother was diagnosed with stomach cancer a few months ago and she is been treated with chemotherapy. I have never met her but I know how itâ??s affecting Eddie and rest of her family. This ride is as much for her as for everyone out there fighting cancer.
