About: Hi, my name is Bryan. I was born and raised in Chandler, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. I am a junior studying to become an aerospace engineer at Texas. Currently, I am in San Diego, CA on a co-op job with an engineering consulting firm for the aerospace and mechanical industries. When I am not working hard or training for the Texas 4000, I enjoy surfing, hiking and chicken burritos among other things. While at Texas, I am involved with my fraternity, Brothers Under Christ, as a cell-group leader and big brother. Since the fall of 2003, I have lived in Phoenix, Austin, Washington D.C. and San Diego. Across the country, I have met many incredible people who have become a blessing to me. Hopefully, I can offer the blessings they have given me to the people I meet on my journey to Alaska.

Why I Ride

Cancer is a devastating disease. It has the capability of tearing apart many families and does not discriminate. Because it is such a powerful disease, our ability to love, care and serve those around us is challenged. Cancer forces us, unwillingly, into a battle against it, even if we or someone we know are not inflicted with the disease. In this battle it is imperative that we show that our ability to love, care and serve are undaunted and in fact made stronger by the intrusion of this disease. The date for when the cure for cancer is found is unknown, but as long as we can prove our love, care and devotion to those with the disease we are winning the battle against cancer. The Texas 4000 for Cancer embodies this spirit. Cycling for 4000 miles shows an abundance of love and devotion, and I can think of no better way to join in the fight against this disease. I believe that an event like the Texas 4000 is an indication of our impending victory over cancer.
