About: I'm an engineering junior from Dallas, Texas. Over the last three years, I've fallen in love with UT and the city of Austin. One of my favorite things about Austin is that there are so many outdoor activities to take advantage of. Since high school, I've been an avid runner and I took up rowing two years ago. I love watching and participating in sports, and am a huge Mavs fan. Additionally, I work as a nanny for an Austin family, which is definitely the best job I've ever had.

Why I Ride

When I heard about Texas 4000, I jumped at the opportunity to participate in a journey for such an amazing cause. I have always been athletic, but cycling to Alaska will definitely push my athleticism to the max. In high school, I watched my uncle Gary struggle with lung cancer. The affect of cancer on him and our family was devastating. At the time, I felt helpless because I thought there was nothing I could do to help him. Now, by biking, I can show support for what he went through.
