About: I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. I plan on seeking a Master's degree in Physical Therapy after I get some of the prerequisites out of the way. Growing up I've always been a huge fan of sports. I like to call myself an "impulse athlete." If I find a sport that sparks my interest, I just tend to jump on it and see where it takes me. Some sports I participate in are basketball, flag football, rowing, and softball. I rowed for the University of Texas for two years. That was definitely a lot of hard work, a great learning experience, and part of my "impulse athlete" persona. I love to travel as well. I enjoy visiting new places and meeting new people. I've been fortunate enough to have been able to travel to a few places around the world and just seeing what's out there.

In the words of a great basketball coach who suffered from cancer as well, this statement gives me strength and hope to help in finding a cure for cancer. Texas 4000 for Cancer has given me the chance to reach out to people in ways I haven't before. Many people think I'm crazy to be riding a bicycle over 4500 miles from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska but I think they are missing the whole point. It's all about sharing knowledge and giving hope to all the people affected by cancer, whether it be personally or by a loved one. I too have been there to see my loved ones suffer through the pains of cancer. I had to watch my greataunt, who took care of me when I was a baby, fight and battle against lung cancer for years. I had to watch as the cancer slowly made her weak and see her fight hard just to have enough energy to be happy and cheery around the family. Even though cancer has taken the lives of loved ones everywhere, I firmly believe that there is a cure. I hope that my effort to bike over 4500 miles across North America to spread cancer awareness and giving hope to people everywhere will be a victorious one. =)
