About: I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and did a bit of moving before I ended up in Houston. I am a second year student at the University of Texas majoring in Plan II (weird liberal arts major) and philosophy. I am planning on attending medical school when I graduate, but this changes hourly. That's pretty much it.

Why I Ride

Greetings. My name is Kartik, and I am a second-year undergraduate student at the University of Texas interested in becoming a surgeon. I very strongly believe in Texas 4000's goal, which is to educate people about cancer, along with raising funds for the American Cancer Society. During my summers spend doing cancer research, I have witnessed the horrible nature of this disease. I have also witnessed breakthroughs in treatment that has given me hope that one day we may overcome this sickness. No creature should ever have to suffer through this terrible disease; with more research and education, we can put an end to cancer.
