About: Dallas born and raised, spent my teenage years in Ohio where I went to St. Xavier High School (Zavier not Eggzavier) where, combined with a good up bringing by my family, the Jesuits hit home the lesson, that if nothing else in life, be a "Man for Others". This, very early in my life, helped set the foundation of my heart, giving me purpose, direction, enjoyment in life.
I also spent three years in college in Ohio at Denison University where I got a Liberal Arts education, that basically fueled my love/interest for just about every subject known and unknown. There I made many life-long friends two of which I am dedicating this ride to. Ohio: I miss my friends/family and Skyline Chili but not the winters. So now I am back in Texas at the University of Texas, about to graduate college after six long-semi-informative years, with an Architectural Engineering degree(4th and final major). I have yet to confirm any plans for after this trip however I have faith that things will workout. First things, first.....ALASKA!

Why I Ride

First of all I am dedicating my ride to three very special people in my life and their families who were affected by cancer and cancer treatments (namely Chemo Therapy). These people are John (Papa) Eaves and his family (Kay "Mama Eaves", Jesse, Josh and Matt "Twinkle Toes"), Cheri Spoo and her family(Kevin, Maggie "Mags", and Steven "Stefon"), and my cousin Byron Perkins and his family (Lauri, Austin, and Wade). This my way of saying how much y'all mean to me.
I am really blessed with supportive family and friends. Having had close people in my life affected by cancer and I am so glad I have this opportunity to help fight cancer in such a unique way. Honestly I am a little scared/excited about the adventure we are embarking on, but I think these two emotions are needed to keep us safe, healthy and motivated for the trip. It is such a huge endeavor, I can imagine it will be, to say the least, an experience of a life time. Thank you all who have helped make this trip possible, and blessings on all those struggling with cancer, may this ride be symbol of hope for you and all those you love.
