Why I Ride

When I was very young my grandmother passed away from breast and lung cancer. I was too young to really know her, but I saw the way it affected my father and the rest of my family. Since then I have been very fortunate that cancer has not directly effected my life.
However I still see the impact that cancer has on many people's lives. Everyday I hear and read stories about struggles, survivorship, and loss, and after working for a cancer foundation I knew that I wanted to do everything possible to help fight the battle against cancer. I am very fortunate that I am healthy and happy and I wish I could just give that health and happiness to those in need. I am riding this summer because I can. Because I can make a difference and show the great power that a group of dedicated and passionate students have.
