About:

I believe in life. I believe that laughter is the best medicine. I believe in singing in the rain and dancing under the stars. I have two wonderful parents who support my good decisions and offer counsel on the bad, and a younger sister who doubles as my best friend. I love all things Lord of the Rings, I have a bucket list for every season and my life-goal is to enjoy every opportunity in life. I went to Foster High, an ordinary Texas high school where I met many extraordinary people and teachers that taught me to work hard and honestly in order to achieve my academic goals. They taught me that a teacher can change a student’s outlook on a subject, just by being supportive and patient. This is how I strive to affect the people I meet every day. I want to share life’s little joys with the world just as much as I try to celebrate major achievements. I am pursuing my B.S. in Public Health, so that I can become an educated professional that works to research, educate and implement public health innovations to improve human quality of life. It is because of lessons learned from incredible people like my parents and mentors that I came to the University of Texas at Austin to further my education and continue my personal growth. Not every second of every day spent living in this world is exciting and fashionable for each of us, but every moment is nonetheless a chance to change someone else’s life with the power of a good attitude and a smile.

Why I Ride

See that handsome guy up there in that photo? That's my daddy, my hero, the man that I thought had all (and I mean ALL) the answers until I was at least six years old. We share a birthday, a love for outdoors and soy sauce, and the need to quote Forrest Gump whenever anyone says the word "stupid." Daddy had cancer and he beat it; in fact, he destroyed it twice. Nonetheless, no one beats cancer by themselves. Our family was the greatest support and my mom's selflessness truly showed me the value of a caretaker. I want to ride with my own family in heart and mind, but also for all families affected by cancer, especially fathers.
