About: I am a senior at the University of Texas majoring in English, due to graduate in May. I spent my junior year of college studying abroad, spending the fall semester in Italy, and the spring semester in Prague. I'm excited about this opportunity to travel across the States, visiting different communities and spreading cancer awareness.

Why I Ride

My first experience with cancer was when my childhood friend, who rode her bike along side mine the day my training wheels were removed, died from leukemia in the summer of 92, at the age of 10. After the funeral, I heard someone mention the first dates she'd never go on, the learners permit she'd never get, and the graduation that would never come. Through each of these milestones in my life I've remembered my friend, sharing these experiences so they might be hers too. I'm doing this ride in honor of those missed moments.
