Why I Ride

I ride for my mom, a breast cancer survivor whose perseverance and selflessness inspires me every day. Her story reminds me that hope is something so powerful and ever-present, even in the bleakest of times. I am so fortunate to constantly learn from her. She used to work in Estes Park, Colorado, which is why I wanted to be on the Rockies team! I ride for my friend Ben, who battled a rare form of liver cancer. His positivity throughout his journey (and outside of it!) inspires me to be the best version of myself and to be joyful each day. I am so honored to know him, and am so happy that he overcame his battle. The bravery they show every day is something I aspire to have, and the love they share with others is remarkable despite their battles.

I ride for those who have lost to cancer, those who have survived it, and those who are currently fighting it. I have a choice to ride for my loved ones and those I have not met who did/do not have a choice to face cancer. I want to be strong for them, though my strength and determination in my T4K journey will be greatly outweighed by their strength and determination in living day to day.

I hope that on my journey I can remind others that above all else, hope remains.

Please let me know if there is someone in your life I can ride for.
