Why I Ride

There are not many people alive today that have not been touched in some way, shape, or form by cancer. Cancer has been a disease that has directly impacted me and my family; three of my four grandparents have suffered from it. My grandmother has survived Hodgkin’s lymphoma. My grandfather had bladder cancer. And my other grandmother has survived breast cancer. I saw them suffer; I remember their pain; and I am proud of their fighting spirits. I am so thankful that they are still alive and will be able to see me participate in Texas 4000. But my grandparents are not the only people that I want to ride for. So many adventurous spirits have been extinguished by this deadly disease. This is an opportunity to ride for those who cannot. Ride for those who have passed on and those too sick to go on an adventure like this. With the money and awareness raised, hopefully, we can give those people a chance for a great adventure.
