2017 Volunteered at Ronald McDonald’s Lights of Love
‘Tis the season!
My teammates and I had an opportunity to volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) of Central Texas annual Lights of Love event. The past four years I had participated in the event, but this year was able to participate in a new role as a volunteer with my Texas 4000 teammates.
We assisted with decorating the venue where later on members of the Austin community would come together to celebrate the season and RMHC. Santa Claus, a snow slide, photo booths, hot chocolate, and of course ginger bread making were all making an appearance at the event!
Our team had fun planning and arranging decorations, and even had the opportunity to use our bike pumps on an object other than our tires. We were able to help inflate Frosty, Santa Claus, and a Christmas Tree with our trusted bike pumps!
As our team continues to grow closer, it was fun to see us all get in the holiday spirit and share some of our favorite holiday memories. Additionally, we enjoyed being able to support another non-profit in Austin. I am always amazed by how giving and supportive this community is and look forward to more volunteering events!
