Week in Review: A look back at the top sports stories in northern New Mexico

CYCLING: The Texas 4000 will take Santa Fe by storm on Saturday as part of a 70-day excursion to Anchorage, Alaska, to raise money and awareness of cancer research and cancer support services. The group, which is expected to pedal more than 4,000 miles on its journey, will meet with members of the Santa Fe Bicycle Club and the Seniors on Bikes Club at Clines Corners and Lamy, arriving at the Santa Fe Plaza about 3:30 p.m. The Texas 4000 is the longest annual charity bike ride in the world and has raised more than $4 million since its inception in 2003. There will be a fundraising dinner Saturday at Las Campanas to benefit in part the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico. For more information about the dinner, contact Texas Exes Santa Fe Chapter leader Paul Brice at pngbrice@comcast.net.
