Born in Desoto, TX (south Dallas), I have lived in several cities including Oak Ridge, TN, Knoxville, TN, and Southlake, TX, where I attended high school (Go Dragons!). After high school, I came to Austin to attend UT, and will finish my degree in Finance this semester. I have always been an athletic, outdoor oriented person, looking for a new adventure for the body and spirit. I think I got what I wished for with Texas 4000 for Cancer.

Winston Churchill once said "Never, never, never give up" and "If you are going through hell, keep going." That is great advice for every one of our members preparing to embark on this summer's adventure. However, the courage and character we will show facing the challenge ahead of us will pale in comparison to what cancer victims show everday. That is why we ride. Because as I have met and come to realize how amazing each and every one of our riders on this team is, I keep in mind that every day of the trip we will meet people who are braver, tougher, and stronger than we are. While we may be facing the battle of a summer, they are facing the battle for their life.
