Hello!! I'm Ileana or Laura, depends on how you know me. I'm 20 years old and an English major at UT. I hail from McAllen, TX, down in the southern tip of Texas. It's actualy about 330 miles south of Austin.

Let's see, interests, hmmm....well, I enjoy reading anything I can get my hands on when I have time. I love listening to music, something has always got to be playing in the background for me. I love to bike ride, anywhere and everywhere. I like to write, mainly poetry, and I absolutely love taking naps and sleeping. With school, that's sometimes hard to come by. :)

After I graduate we shall see what happens. Grad school is an option, or working and living in Austin. I would seriously like to write too....we'll see.....

My reasons for joining Texas 4000 is to be able to do something good for someone else. Overall, it feels great to be able to be apart of something so spectacular. Personally, I have not known anyone with cancer, and hopefully I won't but I can't predict the future. I mainly wanted to be part of Texas 4000 because it gives me a chance to help others by doing something that I absolutely enjoy: biking. It's a great cause and raises so much hope to prove that anything is possible.
