Hey, I'm BJ. Im from the grand state of Tennessee (Memphis) and later moved on to Oklahoma. I spent roughly three years after high school back packing around various places before settling down in Austin to work for awhile and eventually make my way into the University of Texas. I am now a third year freshman majoring in philosophy and neurobiology. I have the high hopes of weaseling my way into Med School one day, but of course only after back packing for a few more years after my time here in Austin. I mostly enjoy my friends and family and am also enthusiastic about music. Obviously I enjoy traveling, I read lots of books and magazines, play x-box, and enjoy fighting evil - like cancer!

Every great journey begins with a single step. Truth be told, I think I'm a little bit too excited at the idea of biking all the way across the continent! But the idea of making that first step and peddling on as needed just makes me smile. But yeah it is nuts. I believe in what we are doing, I believe that educating communities as we do will make a huge difference in many lives, I believe our trek will inspire people across the country, and our compassionate contribution will help in the fight against cancer. Thats why I ride.
