I am a junior at UT and I am majoring in Finance. I was born in Austin on October 24, 1982 and have lived here ever since. I have rowed for the UT club team for the past two years and enjoy playing the guitar, reading, and everything outdoors.

My grandmother died of cancer when I was young. At the time, I did not really understand what had happened. Because I was so young I never really got to know who she was; something I've always regretted. Last year my father was diagnosed with the disease. Luckily, it was caught at an early stage and he's made a full recovery. My grandfather is fighting cancer as we speak and needs all support he can get. My goal in joining the Texas 4000 was to give people like this the best chance to fight cancer successfully. I also love giving myself a challenge and this is a great way to do that and help people at the same time.
