My name is Pamela. I am 22 years old. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley...Mcallen, Texas to be exact. I'm blessed to have the most wonderful parents and the two most amazing brothers. Without them, I wouldn't be who I am or do what I do. I graduated from UT in '06 with a degree in Sociology and am currently employed by the State of Texas (Research and stats, wooo!). After conquering N. America in our fight against cancer, I'll head on to graduate school at UT.

It doesn't matter if Cancer has affected you yet. It will. Cancer affects us all. Everyday more and more people are affected by it. It knows no boundaries. It doesn’t care what your education level is, how much money you make, whether you’re male or female, young or old, good-looking or not.

Since none of us will escape it, I think we all have a responsibility to bring awareness to the issue, to become involved in finding a solution, and to show our support for those who are currently battling this horrible disease in all it’s variations.

If actions speak louder than words, then I hope that what we are doing sends the message loud and clear...
