Biography

I recently graduated from Alaska Pacific University, the final destination of the T4K ride. Interestingly enough I decided to make the move to Alaska while tramping around Nepal and Tibet several years ago. Currently you can find me living in a small cabin in the Adirondack Park, miles from anywhere, studying biology at the closest university (Potsdam). My free time is spent on the bike, riding as long as the sun allows, or climbing rock/ice on the backcountry cliffs of northern New York.

Personal Statement

Nearly everyone has some connection to cancer, personally I have had a mother survive and a grandmother pass away. Having been personally affected I have always been conscious of the fact that cancer can strike at any moment. As unfair and unpredictable as that may be, we can all prepare and fight. Fundraisers are an exceptional way to express the fact that people believe in the fight against cancer. Events like the Texas 4000 raise crucial funds that aid in improved treatment and make medical advancements, but more importantly deliver a message. Awareness is an essential weapon, as knowledge often leads to earlier diagnosis. Needless to say, nearly 50 cyclists traveling over 4000 miles for one common goal renders a message of hope.
