That's a little bit of myself.
Currently, I am completing my field practicum so I can be a proud graduate of UT's School of Social Work program this December 2008. Then, I plan on sweating bullets to train for our departure in June 2009 to share hope and knowledge across the amazing US of A! and Canada of course.
I am very lucky to have discovered Texas 4000 for Cancer and to continue the message that started almost 6 years ago.
Personal Statement
Up to this point in my life, I have been lucky to not have someone close to me be affected by cancer.
Statistically speaking, though, someone I care about will at some point receive the news. I ride so that if that moment arrives, I know I did what I could to help their fight against cancer.
For that moment in time, for that moment of uncertainty, for that moment filled with worry, for all those moments that people will face or have faced because of cancer: this is why I ride.
Our commitment to this cause is so much bigger than any of us can imagine. The ability to inspire by talking to people about T4K is amazing. We have such an incredible, energizing tool to reach so many individuals and at the same time benefit the ongoing battle with cancer. This fight is worth fighting for and I intend to be a part of every minute of it. Cancer will not trump our society because we shall overcome it with all our strength, courage, hope and knowledge.
