Biography
I am 22 years old and grew up in McKinney Texas very close to most of my family. When I moved to McKinney as a toddler it was still considered a small town that seemed to be forever away from Dallas. In 6th grade I started competitive cheerleading and continued until I graduated from high school. My other passions include cooking, my dog Jezebel and taking care of the people I love and those in need of help. I am a kinesiology major who is teetering on the edge between going to medical school or physicians assistant schooling. I love helping people and cannot wait to be able to do so in a more extreme way.
Personal Statement
Cancer has been a part of my family for as long as I can remember. I never met my Papie who died two weeks before I was born from kidney cancer. If there was one disease I could remove from my family history it would be cancer. My family has lost many to this disease and we have had many survive cancer. For those that have won the battle I am truly grateful to still have them in my life.
My passion for helping cure cancer was planted when Mamma, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago. I grew up only a couple of blocks from her, my sisters and I spent endless hours at her house playing. Mamma has always been a very strong woman and I will always admire her for the strength and determination she had to fight this disease. She has been cancer free for over five years and I cannot imagine my life without Mamma close by.
I ride for those that cannot, for those that I love and those that I miss.
Mamma this is for you!
