Biography

I was born on St. Patrick’s day and I suppose I’ve had some pretty good luck ever since. Got two great parents, a couple of step parents and three sisters, one brother man. I played a ton of video games when I was younger but I also enjoyed baseball and getting dirty in the back creeks of the White Oak Bayou. A few of my friends and I used to do all kinds of ridiculously dangerous things out there that I probably wouldn't try again. Well, then a few friends and I started a band when high school came around and we stuck with that until sophomore year of college. That was a blast and really - I made more memories than I know what to do with. So I figured I’m growing up or something like that and I started taking care of my school work, exercising, and eating right. I’ll be graduating in December of 2008 with two degrees – English and Anthropology. After graduation I hope to work in the field of archeology, primate ethnography, or an organic grocery store. I’m not sure what else to say, but I’m thankful for all of my family and friends for shaping me into someone who finds life endlessly fascinating.

Personal Statement

My mom’s dad died a day before my brother was born. He had a very large tumor removed from his lung and ended up outliving his approximated life expectancy by about a decade. I never met him but I’ve always had this strange kinda fascination with the man. He seems like a really true and head strong guy and from what I’ve seen and gathered he was something of an artist, an extremely skilled and professional carpenter, a small town man who knew how to smile and someone who followed his ambitions and love to the utmost. Now I could be wrong about all that but I don’t think so – the point is that he’s had a lot to do with me becoming who I am and I’ve never even met the man or really understood why. I don’t know how else to put it really but I think that if I can ride my bike to Alaska for Cancer then maybe I can get his attention for 70 days or so and let him see all the beauty and spirit of this grand nation of people from way on up above. I ride for him, and I ride for all of my loved ones alike who have, have had, or will develop cancer. And for that matter, I really just ride for everyone. Now go on and live life.
