I am a 20 year old who is ready to live. I grew up in the small fishing village of Rockport located 45 minutes north of Corpus Christi. In a town of 6000, it was easy to establish myself and develop goals in life. I was very involved in theater, choir and dance, and eventually became a professional dancer while attending UTSA my freshman year in college. I transferred to UT my sophomore year and landed a wonderful job as a Leasing Professional at The Castilian Dormitory. Since the big move I have dabbled a bit in dance but have mainly focused on yoga, pilates and my fun school work. Last summer I spent a month and a half in Argentina which changed my life. I am assured this summer will do the same in ways unimaginable.

I too have been touched by cancer. My wonderful great Aunt Lisa and my great Uncle Patrick both have cancer. They are some of the greatest people I know. Also, fairly recently my Aunt Roxanne has began treatment for cancer at MD Anderson. Cancer has creeped its way into the lives of those around me-a friend's parent, a choir director, a friend of a friend's mother-but never into the lives of those close to mand even those close to me.

When I get tired and when I feel like there is no way I can go any further, I am able to continue because of these people. It is with their strength that I am able find stength within myself. Hey family...this is for you.
