Hey, my name is Laura Gregory. I am 19 from Denton, Texas. I am an undeclared freshman in Liberal Arts here at UT. I don't want to stay in this, but I don't know what I do want to be in yet. It is hard to decide what to study when I know that I don't ever want a real job (you know... in a tall building, in an office, with a stapler). I am currently on Texas Crew and love it. Let's see... things that interest me are: sports, architecture, photography, reading, music, backpacking (and pretty much all things outdoors), gallivanting, and tiddly winks.

Since I have the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the advancement in cancer studies this summer, I can't imagine doing anything else. I would feel so unproductive and so selfish. On a personal note, my aunt was probably the coolest lady that I (and so many others, I hear) ever knew and it devastates me that she had such a difficult time in chemo yet wasn't able to overcome cancer. I didn't realize the numerous similarities between us until recently by talking to my parents and uncle. They say that I am so much like her. I can't imagine that I could live up to that statement, but I certainly want to try. I think that this ride is one way to do something for my aunt, but it will also help so many others.
