Biography

I was born and raised in Michigan, where I attended Michigan Technological University. While in college, I studied Mechanical Engineering and did Air Force ROTC. Upon graduating, I was commissioned in the US Air Force and assigned to the Office of Special Investigations (OSI) in Oklahoma City, OK. In the summer of 2004, I was transferred to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. Shortly after arriving in San Antonio, I deployed to Baghdad International Airport. In July 2005, I deployed to the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, as a security advisor for a General Officer. I have enjoyed travelling around the world serving with the military and look forward to travelling across the United States for two months in order to help another great cause.

Personal Statement

I figure that a life devoted to helping those around you will never be a waste. My boy Teddy Roosevelt said, ??No man is worth his salt who is not ready at all times to risk his well-being, to risk his body, to risk his life, in a great cause.? That is what first inspired me about the military and what has inspired me to take part in the Texas 4000. The fight against cancer is truly a ??great cause?. I look forward to serving a cause which will donate money and more importantly hope to those affected by cancer and give a piece of my life fighting that which has taken a piece of so many other lives.
