My name is Hap and Iā??m a senior at UT Austin. I am studying mechanical engineering, geography, and the environment. Currently I'm planning on saving the world through sustainable engineering and sound public policy. I enjoy cooking and eating delicious food, creating useful stuff, cooperation, and learning. I also like teaching, good adventures, going fast, tasteful and tasteless humor, skateboarding, being outside, and fireworks.

When I first heard about Texas 4000, I immediately knew I would do it someday. While I am one of the lucky few that has not been affected by cancer, I want to help fight this terrible disease. And what better way to do it than a cross-continent bicycle journey. Our ride will generate funding for emerging cancer research, which I can only hope will lead to a cure. My ride is dedicated to my best friend, Chris Rodgers.
