Biography
I knew this would hit once I moved back to Dallas - realizing how other Texas cities dim in comparison to Austin. Town Lake, I miss you...but life after college isn't as bad as they say. Anyways, I've always been drawn to the outdoors. A semester in New Zealand only intensified my affinity to God's majestic creation. You'll probably find me hooping in my free time or chilling at Borders. Other interests include huddling in front of a mini space heater - Asian parents like to conserve money through lack of central heating usage. That and recording myself singing on my cell...how i do!
Personal Statement
Last year I applied to join T4K with a faint memory of how cancer claimed my grandmother's life. Though the MCAT prevented me from riding in '05, this go round I find renewed motivation. My grandfather passed away recently after four months of battling lung cancer. His illness drained both he and my family physically and emotionally. Despite the hardship, my family has trekked on and grown closer together. The fight to survive has unveiled the resilient human spirit. Experiencing this pain only reinforces my desire to provide healing as a physician. In the process of attaining this long term goal, I envision joining a band of crazy Austinites - many united through burnt orange blood - but all united with the common cause of fighting cancer. Our trek will bring hope and provide us with perspective. And who can downplay the thousands raised to develop the latest in gene therapy and other life saving techniques.
