Biography

I am a senior Anthropology major and Biology minor. I grew up in Santa Fe, NM and Austin, TX (some of the most incredible cities in the world). I have always been interested in the outdoors, I try to spend as much time as possible outside. If I could I would spend all my time hiking, biking, snowboarding, caving, running etc. Although I am studying Anthropology, I am mostly interested in working with Environmental issues. I want to learn more about Green Building and sustainable design. When I leave school I really just want to build things, I am all for creating something instead of discussing other people who create things. I like to just get out there and get the work done.

Personal Statement

I know that cancer affects all of our lives. I am personally affected by cancer because I lost my cousin and grandfather from complications with cancer. Even though I am connected to people who have suffered from cancer, I want to learn more about the disease and how it affects lives. I want to have the chance to personally connect with people who are affected whether because they have cancer or someone they love does. I cannot stand by and watch others work for this cause, I want to be actively involved. Part of my motivation is educating myself more on cancer and the other is taking power in my hands to do something about it.
