I'm a grad student in Transportation Engineering at UT and originally from Michigan. My interests include: roadtrips, running, probably biking in the near future, trying to make people laugh, failing at making people laugh, crazy boondoggles, poorly drawn cartoons, circus capers, writing, spontaneous fun-having, beer-brewing, space-age love stories, rock and/or roll, kittens, and unicorns. I must admit, one of the main reasons for doing this ride is I don't think I can.

I've been pretty lucky so far in avoiding cancer myself and among my own close family. The closest it ever came to me was my good friend's mother, who died several years ago. Her and her family went through a lot of pain and it was pretty hard for me to see that happen since they always treated me like I was part of the family. I'm hoping I can at least do a little bit to keep that from happening to someone else.
